Our Women Empowerment, and Gender Equality stand
In ancient times, men were generally considered to be the leading family members. They were responsible for making a living and were decision-makers of the family. Women, on the other hand, had the responsibility of caring for the household and of raising children. Therefore, roles were largely based on gender. There was no involvement of women in decision-making. If we look at the rest of our industry, research shows that women's issues are focused on their reproductive role and their body or their economic role as an employee. But none of them focus on empowering women.
What Does Women's Empowerment Mean?
Women Empowerment is a program that empowers women to live a happy and dignified life in society. Women are empowered when they are able to access opportunities in various fields such as education, job opportunity, lifestyle, etc., without limitations. It includes raising their standards through education, awareness, literacy, and training. It includes the authority to make decisions. When a woman makes an important decision, she feels powerful.
The advancement of women is a very important factor in global development. Suppose that in the family there is a leader, and in the other family, men and women take the lead, and then who will have a better life. The answer is simple, a family where men and women earn a living. Thus, the world in which men and women work together is developing rapidly. It also means providing them with equal opportunities for growth and development in society, as well as not allowing gender bias.
As per the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia
Article 35 (8)
Women shall have a right to equality in employment, promotion, pay, and the transfer of pension entitlements.
